Anonymous, 1 hour agoS phones not responding to requests? Lol good joke Brands that sell more have priority over suppliers.
Midranges always hit the market earlier than flagships, as there are many more chips available in the 6xx and 7xx series.
Bundle with WF-XB700, not even WF-1000XM4 considering the sale price? Good God Sony, they lost it. I would have preferred 150 eur less and no pack.
Anonymous, 1 hour agoPeople who buy Series 5 want everything the Series 1 has except the 4K display. Make sure that the dimension … moreYes, but the processor also plays a good role in the price increases. I am not saying you are wrong but it is a factor.
Sony only competes with themselves.
Anonymous, 2 hours agoAnd lose all the functionality they can get from the Qualcomm chip? LOL …… in case you don’t remember … moreFor your information, Nokia has been offering 2 major updates on its devices with Mediatek even at entry level for a long time …
Here is Nokia 3 with mt6737 (SD410 level)
Mediatek has been providing updates for years. Mt6737 was released with Android 6.0. Some devices with an Android 10.0 … but true, OEMs often don’t provide updates. Is it Mediatek’s fault?
Qualcomm? More features? Which?
It’s true that you get better framerate, but that’s not a feature.
Triple ISP on 888 has been available for years on Mediatek. Today, the D1000 / 1100/1200 have 3 + 2 FAI (a little big, SMALL)
HDR multi-frame video recoding on 888 was already available last year on D1000 +
Maybe an 8k recording … but what for?
Mediatek offers AV1 hardware decoding even on the mid-range (D900), even the SD888 doesn’t! … it’s a feature!
Anonymous, 1 hour agoGood luck Sony … selling Xperia 1 III for 1300 euros. Most people will buy MI 11 ultra or s2 … moreMost xperia are sold in Japan and Taiwan.
In Japan, no one wants Chinese phones. They buy Japanese or Apple.
In Taiwan, Chinese flagship products are irrelevant. The most popular flagship products are Xperia.
Japan + Taiwan represent well over 50% of Xperia sales.
Nothing will change.
Anonymous, 3 hours agoI don’t know why Apple, Samsung and Sony are opening pre-orders before any review of their photos … moreUsually, the review is posted after people buy the phone. Receiving a free phone and congratulating them is Chinese practice and not a common thing. Don’t use your switchboard as usual.
Good luck Sony … selling Xperia 1 III for 1300 euros.
Most people will buy MI 11 ultra or s21 ultra at this price since they are the top brands in 2021.
In Europe, if one chooses to buy from online retailers like TradingShenzhen or wondamobile or giztop, one can get it MI 11 ultra 850 euros complete with charger, warranty, etc.
Dometalican, 2 hours agoWhy is it MediaTek’s fault? It is the fault of the phones for not updating. As for the functionalities … moreSome apps and games have dimension issues because very few phones have larger dimension chips. Developers Optimize Snapdragon Bundle Before Dimension
Anonymous, 3 hours agoThere aren’t enough chips to even make 5iii right now. Demand in China is more than expected … moreS phones not responding to requests? Lol good joke
Dometalican, 2 hours agoFor # 2 we’re not sure yet but at least the 900 supports LPDDR5 RAM so looks good for … morePeople who buy Series 5 want everything the Series 1 has except the 4K display.
Make sure the 2000 dimension will be lower than SD888 and offer less.
Plus, a cheaper processor doesn’t mean an OEM would charge less.
They can easily keep that difference to themselves and sell for the same price.
Make more profit.
A lower price does not mean better sales.
Otherwise, 1ii would not sell more than 1.
The processor isn’t what makes phones so expensive today.
But screens with curves, 120/144 / 240Hz, more and bigger cameras, faster RAM and storage, bigger batteries etc.
The nomenclature of the Note 20 Ultra is $ 548. These are just the components. Nothing else included.
That’s more than the retail price of the A72.
Anonymous, 3 hours agoI don’t know why Apple, Samsung and Sony are opening pre-orders before any review of their photos … moreYou can find a lot of reviews, mostly in Chinese, except they’ve had the phone so far. Youtube is your I watch everything to see the camera. Sometimes you get perfect images and sometimes you don’t. I want to see more video with real time tracking
Anonymous, 2 hours agoYes. It’s on mediatek. To get a new Android = phone maker + OS maker + chip maker. … moreFor # 2 we’re not sure yet but at least the 900 supports LPDDR5 RAM so it looks good for the future flagship chip. Maybe Sony can make a deal with them.

Dometalican, 2 hours agoWhy is it MediaTek’s fault? It is the fault of the phones for not updating. As for the functionalities … moreYes. It’s on mediatek.
To get a new Android = phone maker + OS maker + chip maker.
Chipmaker: Must post drivers for OEM.
Operating system manufacturer: must keep chip compatibility, SD801 is 32 bit and cannot have Android 7.
OEM: must want to update the device
1) dimension 2000 is chip 2022.
2) with the best current mediatek, if 5iii had it, it would lose the 4K @ 120 recording, DDR5 RAM.
3) It would have much weaker GPU and CPU than 1iii, it would be weaker than 5ii.
Neither brand will use the mediatek chip for phones over $ 700. Quite simply because Qualcomm chips are much better.
The only mediatek chips worth using are the P series for midrange, they are as good as the Qualcomm 6xx series, despite the lack of 4K recording on most.
No more wacky prices by Sony who seem to think people are stupid enough to pay over £ 500 for a mobile phone.
Anonymous, 2 hours agoAnd lose all the functionality they can get from the Qualcomm chip? LOL …… in case you don’t remember … moreWhy is it MediaTek’s fault? It is the fault of the phones for not updating. When it comes to features, Qualcomm still doesn’t support AV1 and at least Dimensity is more efficient and cheaper. LG created a version of the Velvet with Dimensity and it worked well in the United States.

Anonymous, 3 hours agoI don’t know why Apple, Samsung and Sony are opening pre-orders before any review of their photos … moreEasy. Buy the phone, if you are not happy just return it.
In less than 24 hours, I am 100% sure whether or not I am satisfied with the device.
The internet is full of sponsored youtubers.
Bad reviews that never talk about screen color accuracy, advanced audio analysis, real-life battery test, etc.
Nothing more stupid than the magazine that runs antutu 3 times in a row. Judge the screen by amount of hertz and brightness, battery test which is only a benchmark / games, audio test which judges volume, camera test which compares cameras of different sensor sizes / different focal lengths / different settings.
You don’t have to understand the technology to make a review like this.
Anonymous, 4 hours agoSo almost 4 months after the revelation. Better than last year but still a long way to go SONY !! K … moreI would like Sony to use Dimensity 2000 for the 5 to come with 830 (or whatever) for the 10. With the price increase, Sony should look at these chipsets to price their phones more competitively without sacrificing much. .
MKL, 3 hours agoI wish Sony could release their phones sooner. August is too late. All other companies are … moreAbsurdity. Apple is releasing theirs in October. It doesn’t make any difference. If everyone stopped waiting for the next best phone, no one would ever buy one.
