Mueller pitched the topic of building a website using a static site generator. This leads to the realization that he and Splitt both use a similar tool named Hugo. For simplicity, Hugo uses his Markdown language to generate the pages. However, it comes with the limitation of not being able to use its HTML code for redirects and nofollow tags.
According to Splitt, there is no reason to worry. They have annotations for the content, which is the centerpiece of an article or for the content. When they crawl a page and place the content in the document for their index, they render the page and complete the content for the DOM.
