COVID on the rise in northern California coast county
California coronavirus case rates are nearing all-time low, but in a north coast county, the numbers are moving in the wrong direction.
Humboldt County, whose largest city, Eureka, is 230 miles north of San Francisco, recorded 137 new cases last week. It was the most since early February. Over the weekend, the county health department reported 33 more infections, bringing the total number of residents who have tested positive for the virus to 3,885 since the start of the pandemic.
